Looking at some non-mainstream WWII documentaries featuring German veterans
They keep asking them "Why did you fight? Why did you attack?"
And they simply explained that they were fighting against the rising evil of Stalinist bolshevism which threatened their borders and the whole of Europe.
Now, everyone can justify things retrospectively as they see fit. But let's consider what happened factually after WWII:
- Soviet Union was given green light to do what ever they wanted by the UK and USA as they wont as a pact.
- Soviet Union established politically oppressive regimes in half of Europe.
- Bolshevik inspired dictators like Mao Zedong, Ho Chi Minh, Nicolae Ceausescu, Fidel Castro, Kim Il-sung killed more people than Hitler and friends could ever dream of.
Not sure why people associate nazi concentration camps as the greatest human evil ever. Gulags mog them by a long mile.
