As I've posted before, the American economy is mortally wounded at this point. It will end in hyper-inflation. I don't know when it will end, but it doesn't take more than 5 mins and some freshman level accounting to tell that our current deficit is unpayable.

As far as all the mass cultural retardation, IMO it's like marriage. When the money is bad, everything is bad. People don't really have the vocabulary to explain it, but they just kind of intuitively understand that everything is fukked. They have a far lower standard of living than their parents did, and no one sees any hope for turning it around. People just get nihilistic as fuk.
