Would banning rap music help lower crime?
Especially gangster rap.
What good has any of this "music" done for society?
It glorifies violence and crime.

If rap weren’t glorified, yes, culture would probably improve. Banning it probably wouldn’t have that impact without society disowning it first.

Depends on the rap, drill/gangster rap yes, they're literally rapping about crimes they actually committed and encourage others to do.
Especially with drill rap they diss each other non stop and get revenge in blood.
The people who listen to this music but aren't directly involved actually encourage it, if a rapper's friend is murdered by rival gang members - their own fanbase will beg them to get revenge, it's entertainment for them.
