never understood the hype for goldeneye. is it cuz it was the first decent FPS game on a console? was already playing quake 2 on the PC by then. just lol at consolecels

yea but according to your own logic op, those games suck because of "muh graphics".

also, 2003 wasnt good because of your shiety sports titles. you didnt even play most of the good 2003 games

2004 was the best. I don't even need to see the list. We had UT2k4, HL2, CS source, 1.6 was still kicking ass, Quake 3 was still going, RTCW:ET, warcraft 3 TFT and dota allstars was just taking off, and SC broodwar was still big. It was a great time to game. We also had Halo 2, GTA San Andreas, and World of Warcraft. It was really a magnificent year. Oh also there was America's Army too even tho that game was dogchit propaganda.

I remember there not being enough hrs in the day for all the games I played. I also played mods like DOD and NS. Man those were great times to game. Also, that year was when esports got really big like I think Subway sponsored Team3d for CS that year. I think that was also the year complexity started taking off as well. I remember the guy who made it used to post on gotfrag, and everyone talked chit to him and said he sucked ass and was retarded. He was this rich lawyer who saw the future of esports lol. Well he turned out to be right.

goldeneye had great controls for its time, great graphics for its time, a cool story, and fun replayable levels

obv Halo reinvented console shooters and changed gaming forever, but before that, Goldeneye (and Perfect Dark) were the model console shooters

2003 was ok OP. UT2k3 was awesome. It was a decent year, but it was overshadowed by 2004, which was the greatest year in gaming history. In that one year from 2k3 to 2k4, there was a huge leap in computing and tech. It was actually insane.

Goldeneye is still fantastic. So is Perfect Dark. Still play them.

IMO 2007-2012 was the best 5 year stretch for video gaming. Personal opinion though.

What about 2001-2007 though? Some of the biggest and most innovative games in history came out those years.

2001 had Halo, GTA 3, GT 3, Max Payne, MGS 2 all revolutionary games that changed gaming forever
