Tom Platz says the legpress is inferior to squats.

The quadfather has spoken

“Steroids is now just a word that the lazy and ignorant use to describe any guy that has more muscle and dedication than them”– Mike O'Hearn

"I am like getting the feeling of cumming in the gym; I'm getting the feeling of cumming at home; I'm getting the feeling of cumming backstage; when I pump up, when I pose out in front of 5000 people I get the same feeling, so I am cumming day and night. It's terrific, right? So you know, I am in heaven."

he was honestly way ahead of his time

or rather...far more people would benefit from the excessive range of motion he preaches compared to the heavier/lower range of motion approach in terms of longevity / joint health etc

I don't know about that. You see some of his videos? Plus, didn't he destroy his shoulders?

Ok but pay attention to what he says. 15-20 good solid reps. Most guys slap on too much weight and squat 3-8 sloppy reps at the most. Building muscle is all about form and TUT

Most guys who do that with 275 would have to drop down below two plates to get to 15-20

And guys who are able to do 6 sloppy 315 would have to stop repping his 3 plates

Ego is a motherfukker and it seems like half of peoples workout involves displaying themselves.

I agree. On belt squat, leg press, hack squat, machines etc you can actually target your legs better and get more growth imo. Legs is all about the mental fight. You CAN force 25 reps on all of the machines i just said with little risk of injury. You can pause for a few seconds and push out 2-3, repeat til you hit 25. Those reps are what make you grow, but if you do that with a back squat its far more taxing on your entire body and makes for more risk of injury.

Exactly. And think about the peril they'll put their body through trying to push out over 15 reps. Lower back... destroyed
