Was watching a documentary recently about the spread of HIV in the 80's and came across this advert, they did a good job of warning people about the dangers of the virus back then when it was a legit death sentence. Kinda scary watching it lol.

BBC should win documentary of the year award for that masterpiece-once you get past the laughing at the guys talking about fisting each other in clubs & the always hilarious Pattie Coldwell talking about gay sex acts on daytime television it was an incredible look at the stupidity of the Tory government-who as was pointed out had more gays than Labour & Lib Dems combined & that they refused to do anything until straight people started getting it & Diana did her thing.

No surprise those ludicrous adverts aired, the nuclear explosion booklet put through out doors in the early 1980's by the government was totally insane in both the advice & scaring people & as children in the 1970's & 1980's we got PSA's with kids drowning, being electrocuted, getting limbs blown off by fireworks etc while we were watching the cartoons.

Lol fkng hell wasn't expecting that, imagine if these ads were played today.

Overwhelmingly, but the Thatcher government only made this ad & did other things because more straights started getting it-often from sharing dirty needles with other druggies.
