How is it a scam? He can readily exchange his money for actual assets.

The real scam is IP law and patents. It's why people who used to be jesters now roll in wealth, why your drugs cost so much, why microsoft is able to release such garbage, and why you saw the middle class disappear.

It's the one simple economic change you will never see passed by congress because it affects every donor's bottom line. Reduce and relax the scope of patents and IP law, and you will solve a lot of the inequality and inefficiency in our economy.
