Is having a high metabolism overrated?

Fat people think that if they had a higher tdee they could just eat pizza and burgers all day but realistically it doesn't work like that and if all you eat is junk then you quickly feel chit after a while and your internal health will still suck. Trying to bulk on mostly a clean diet of 4k+ calories would suck donkey balls.

"I am like getting the feeling of cumming in the gym; I'm getting the feeling of cumming at home; I'm getting the feeling of cumming backstage; when I pump up, when I pose out in front of 5000 people I get the same feeling, so I am cumming day and night. It's terrific, right? So you know, I am in heaven."

Definitely overrated, but I do like the ease of dropping body fat.

I eat 4K cals+

I have a weight gainer which is 1250 cals and I drink it with 700ml of whole milk and several eggs (Which comes out to almost 2000 cals)

It is annoying but it’s whatever. Easy to stay lean and eat whatever you want

Depends. If you are cursed with a ravenous appetite, then having a high metabolism is a blessing. If you eat like a bird and have a high TDEE then adding size is going to be hard AF.

I could easily eat 4k calories of chicken/pork/beef with rice, potatoes + fruits/veggies and be happy, but I'd be fat AF.

Why would it be overrated?

Would you rather only eat 1500 calories and struggle to lose a pound? (Ded fkn Srs)

Having a maintenance of 1500 is below average unless you're a 90lb woman though. It's overrated in comparison to having a normal metabolism where you don't have to force-feed yourself to gain weight.

It depends. There definitely are some lanky 6'4+ manmores who genuinely need to eat a chit-ton to gain weight.

Hunger is all subjective to your hypothalamus and the dopamine response to food. Most people over or under eat because of a dopamine imbalance. That's why a lot of smokers who quit, get fat. (Ded fkn Srs)

The numbers don't add up because metabolism adapts and also because listed calories don't accurately measure the food energy of the food a lot of the time.
Different foods also have different thermogenic energy expenditure. It takes more energy for your body to metabolize lets say a chicken breast, than a bowl of ice cream. It also takes more energy to process fiber. Fiber actually burns calories.

There's a great deal of variables. That's why calories in vs calories out is a retarded approach to dieting. (Ded fkn Srs)

because you're terrible at calorie counting or using PEDs, or you walk a lot/work out. There's not a natty man alive that can eat 4000 cals a day and stay 12%bf if he laid in bed all day

Years ago a guy pointed out on here that "metabolism" may not be real.

He noted that there's no difference in temp with people who are said to have a high one.

Rather, a real issue is feces in that a lot of feces is undigested food. So, people who do not gain weight although they eat may not be digesting their food very well.

Meanwhile, people who get fat easily digest their food and can get fat off of very little.

I put on muscle VERY easily but also fat. I barely need to eat to gain muscle and if I go over I will start gaining fat.

I had my metabolism tested and everything was on target. I also have very regular bathroom trips and so I assume my body digests the food fully and quickly, meaning I do not need much food to thrive.

Sucks if you want to pack on mass, but it’s good over the long term

I’m pushing 40 and can still be skinny/lean without really even thinking about it
