Recent good TV shows

Tokyo Vice- probably the last good HBO show
Barry- great black comedy
Mr. Inbetween- the best in at least 5 years, straight to all time favorites

Still have to watch The Terminal List and Reacher. Heard those are good.

What am I missing? No cape**** or SW pls.

both are still ongoing:

The Rehearsal(Nathan Fielder show) - it's not for everybody

The Resort - mystery series, pretty good so far but in this type of show the ending can make it or break it so still on the fence

I tried getting into Obi Wan Kenobi, but I’m a lot older so the architecture and props weren’t plausible for me, so that ruined the immersion and suspension of disbelief.

I did get kind of into it to study the story structure, I’ve read books on screenwriting and I know a lot about putting a story together. The conflict and resolution of conflict went the way I would’ve written it myself, so in my opinion, they did a good job as far as the writing is concerned.

Latest I watched:

Blackbird - really good crime mini series based on true story about guy going to max security prison to figure out where another guy hid the bodies. With Tager Egerton, top notch acting.

Tokyo Vice - one of my favourites this year.

Shining girls - a bit of mystery crime sci-fi mix. Just recently watched and it was really good.

Severance - very original idea. Almost a masterpiece srs.

Terminal List - a good manly thriller. No woke sh*t - just one of those action series where you just watch a man kill everyone.

Reacher - same like terminal list. A man killing everyone flick. IMO a bit older series -Banshee are better than both.

Severance and Black Bird are excellent. I haven't seen the others yet, so can't comment.

I'd add "The Old Man", with Jeff Bridges, about a retired CIA operative who the government is trying to hunt down, really entertaining and great storyline. It's not your average gung-ho action series, it has depth.

Depends on how you class 'recent'.

Since beginning of 2021 say...

All of us are Dead (Korean zombie show)

since beginning of 2020

Gangs of London
Sweet home (Korean monster show)
Cook the man some eggs!

Started watching Severance. Kind of slow beginning which is fine. The first episode is free on Apple TV but after that I'd have to subscribe. Do you think Severance and Black Bird are worth it? Not sure you get that much subscribing to Apple TV but maybe I'm wrong.

Obvious recommendation is Better Call Saul. Starts slow but by Season 6 things get insane. Better than Breaking Bad in my opinion as Breaking Bad had a tonne of annoying characters that you weren't really invested in whereas Better Call Saul has an amazing ensemble cast.

It does start slow. It's honestly worth sticking with. It gets great when there's as much screen time about Gus, Mike and the Cartel stuff as there is about Jimmy and Kim.

I didn't mention it because I figured everyone is watching this lol. One of the GOATs, up there with The Wire, Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad.
