Any brahs have solar? Is it actual worth it?
These f@gg0ts keep calling me and knocking on my door offering the sh!t, telling me I will save so much money. Then every time I ask them how much money will I be saving, they can't give me a straight answer and refer me to their "technician." I'll ask them on average, how much does your customer pay a month for solar, but they won't answer. That's when I either slam the door in their face or hang up the phone. My electric bill isn't even that expensive to be worried about this sh!t anyway. I just want to know if it's worth to even go in debt for. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

Ours was in the $500/month range so it was worth the 25K to essentially wipe out our electric costs.

OP it's not worth it for you then. It would take you along time to recoup the initial cost. And if you keep looking at it do not lease the solar package or you will have a issue if you ever try and sell your house. Source: electrician.

My state is terrible in subsidizing and tax breaks (something I am happy about), so it wasn’t worth it. 25 year break even, with a heavy up front cost.

yea but all these reps use the current cost of energy for all their calculations. ask them to do it with the 5 year avg cost of energy, and only do it if it makes sense then.......unless you are the type of person that likes to buy stocks at their peaks.

It's a goal of mine but i wanted to pay off my house first. But i havent had good experiences with the salesmen. The first guy who came out was cool af and not the least pushy. But then afterwards he started hitting me hard with trying to close. Legit contacted me 6x afterwards and had to block him. The 2nd guy seemed cool at first too. In conversation it came up we both skated and had made plans to skate 2 days later. When i told him i wasnt going to get it he went NC and flaked on our skate plans.

the parts on solar systems fail very often OP, it's always covered under warranty but you will have to wait MONTHS for your installer to get out and service it (if they are still in business). the key things to look at when you purchase solar is your cost per kWh vs what you pay to your utility. if you are taking out a 'home improvement' loan, you are paying more for energy via the solar panels but you will break even in about 30 years if the system lasts that long
I work in the residential solar industry, i view most of our 'customers' as victims of borderline fraud, ded srs. no one understands wtf they are buying and they are all promised to save money. yeah they will 'save money' on a 40 year scale, but in the short-term they are getting FUKT

Prob depends on location. Here in Cali electricity is pretty pricey like .25 per kilo watt or whatever. My friend bought his house that came with solar. He only pays around 20-30 a month in electricity central ac on 24/7 and he only has a few panels. Without them his bill would prob be around 300-400. I already pay 300 a month on electricity. And I don't even have the ac on often in this heat. With ac on a lot my summer bill would ne 400+

My semi autistic, accounting wizard neighbor says so. I asked him once. He has more electric appliances than me so I don't think I'd see the ROI as soon. I'll stick with gas. Plus I think they look like chit on your roof.
I wonder how hail damage is handled on those? I guess maybe your homeowners covers it?
