this is a geniune concern of mine because i feel as if scrawny/out of shape guys like to turn people off of lifting/working out because of jealously or inferior "feeling weak" around them.. its happened to me before and now as i turn to start getting back into working out again, it seems to be starting to happen again.
people dont respect it, they will learn to respect it

yeah for sure, experience this a lot at home with my parents
fat dad who doesn't give a **** but my mom thinks it's cool
high school aged siblings like to make fun but the younger siblings are actually interested and want to go with me, they're not old enough yet sadly
friends of mine usually supportive but sometimes the subtle jabs

Yup when I lived with two roommates in college, one was slightly overweight skinny fat type and other was obese fat fuq. Both gamers. They were both older than me and I decided to room with them because we were close friends when I was younger.
I would always get passive aggressive comments, examples:
"Don't you think working out that much is a waste of time?"
My response: "Bro u play dota 10 hours a day"
While watching a youtube vid on oly lifting:
"Bro you're too skinny to do those lifts"
Needless to say, I got attention from sloots and they got none. Started drifting away from them over time and we don't even talk anymore.

Luckily the other people in the lunch room admitted that the other guy said something to me first. People that don't pick their sacrifices (let someone else decide for them), people who don't try to constantly improve themselves. What do you expect them to understand?
