Why do people Watch Gore?

What is the reasoning behind it?
One thing is stumbling across a al Qaida beheading video but so many people are seeking out that chit.
What is the reason for that? Curiousity? Redpill view of the world?

Not Even hating on people that Watch those vids just cant understand why people would want to Watch people Get skinned alive etc?
Just reading the cliffs of these vids is enough of a reality check for me.

In some ways i wish my kids could see some (not that i would ever encourage such a thing) but only to get them out of their comfort zone and see how the real world really is outside of their little bubble. They walk around, heads in their phone, headphones on etc. I try to always tell them to be aware of their surroundings at all times but i hate for them to be scared 24/7. Whenever I'm in a city, large venue etc....I'm always looking for escape routes, exits etc. just in case. Least they watch Mr. Ballen which goes over some of the sick schit but who knows what, if anything, they take from that stuff.

It makes me feel extremely depressed, stressed and uneasy. I begin to think about what that person's thoughts were when they first woke up, assuming their life just took a sudden unexpected turn of events, and they weren't trapped for a while or something. I lament their fate and ruminate on how they never got to accomplish their dreams, goals, or fulfill their life's potential. I think about how differently things could have been if they just did one single thing different for a few secs or minutes prior, like if they got into an accident or something it would have changed the trajectory of their life forever.

I try and stay away from people that are into that. They are low empathy and I don't trust them. I had this one Asian acquaintance, who was just talking about how he watched multiple cattle decapitations back to back, and how he feels nothing. Monica, what?!

Becasue its reality. Life is not all fun and pleasure. There is a lot of ****ed up ****. And you need to be alert no matter what your situation.

I will show my kids gore viudeos when they are about 6-7. They need to know about reality.

You also have to wonder why it's so easily accessible. While there are some relatively benign and informative, knowledgeable, interesting, and cool sites that are censored.

as someone that has watched 90% of the gore videos, it's fascinating, you cant look away.

Some of it is particularly interesting like industrial accidents in the 3rd world.

You start to appreciate why certain things are in place regarding machinery, lathes, rollers, conveyers, spinning ****, motors and how to avoid certain scenarios.

Dopamine rush. People usually associate dopamine with positive things like smelling baking cookies, having sex, riding roller coasters, etc. But the main driving factors in addiction is the actual dopamine rush. It's not the "pleasure" hormone, it's what controls drive, motivation, and reward. Thrill seekers, gamblers, and drug addicts all have this in common. It's why some people like listening to crazy angry music, watching videos of car crashes, and leveling up to gore.

That's not an end all be all answer, but certainly part of it.

-morbid curiosity

-keeps me vigilante

for example, people getting hit by cars when walking near road. Everyday I see people walking on the edge of pavements, completely oblivious, putting their life/trust in the hands of the general public which is populated by scum.

Just the other day i was walking down a busy road along side walk

Some dumb ass kid looked about 7-8 decided it be a good idea to sit on a tree on the side of the road 2 feet from where cars raced by

I cringed

They're either psychopaths, or they're unknowingly giving themselves ptsd.

Obviously the world isn't all sunshine and rainbows, but you don't need to witness someone being flayed to know that.

Live leak, in the middle east and Africa section they usually has some weekly machete and or grusom accident footage. Something about that part of the world where they continue to film, in fact walk up and zoom in on the body most of the time. Oh wait, why, not where, my bad OP.

It's the kinda thing you really need to see only once. After that morbid curiosity is sated, I can't fathom actively looking it up on a regular basis. Is knowing what is possible not enough? Do I need to torture myself and ruin my day by watching it? No, I do not.
