Is being shredded overrated?

I used to chase after the bulk and cut cycle years ago and even though I would get pretty lean but the muscle and strength I lost was awful. Besides competing/living on a beach 24/7 really worth being under 10%? Seems like 10-15% is a great range for men who lift.

Need a pic of what you mean. 10% is different in everyone's eyes.

Also, what do you mean when you say worth it?

Everyone has to choose for themselves.

I never wanted to be shredded, I just wanted to be the biggest guy in the room.

Absolutely. If you're under a TRUE 10% (likely way leaner than you think) as a natty, your gains will slowly dwindle along with your test and boners. You won't even care about being impotent either, cuz all you'll think about is food. You're also essentially guaranteeing at-least low-grade depression and some constant brain fog.

Ate the pizza with extra cheese, the fries too

Married a ten while weighing in at 265…benched 400 and took her out to Burger King to celebrate.

Have also been the other guy…abs that seemed to move on their own, dunked a volleyball, ran a 6:15 mile …no 10s in my life while weighing 155-170.

its an extreme amount of work to stay single digit and be healthy and you live life hungry most of the day still unless you have a super good metabolism genetically

the muscle gains you can make there going high protein though and moderate carbs low fat and keep cardio in is really good. Its not fun, no "cool" cheat meals or big post leg day meals or any of that chit, but you grow, and you look good.

I mean no. I love working out, but I love the golf course more. I rather be at the golf course than spend an hour or 2 in the gym.

It seems people have a natural body composition. Some dudes just are shredded, for the guys who aren't, yea chasing that low body fat % will come with some sacrifices that go beyond discipline.

I think it is.

I'm not saying that because I'm lazy, it's a pain in the ass to maintain abs year round. I like enjoying life and eating junk every now and then. I turn into a prick when I'm hungry and carb deprived.

Having abs is super cool and awesome to see, but I don't have a reason to have them unless I'm getting ready for a show.

It's easy for some people due to genetics, but that's not me.

It’s hard work, it’s not overrated. It’s worth it. Having everyone mire, haters accusing you of being on OJ, feels good mayne.

Lean for life crew.

I consider lean at any BF% where you are vascular and have abs / striations. For me, it’s probably around the 12% mark; took over a decade of lifting to get to this point. Don’t rush it, it’s a process. Just like anything in life, anything that’s hard will grant you enviable awards. Also, for those saying it’s hard to maintain, that’s not true. Once you achieve it, you know what it takes and you adapt to living a lifestyle that enables you to be lean 95% of the time. Dead Srs. Then again, I’m someone who lifts for athletic performance rather than ‘strength’ or to be big.

Depends. I feel amazing eating a healthy diet of fruit, veg, good carbs and protein. I feel like shizzle when I eat junk. I don’t find it hard to ‘watch’ what I eat, it’s been my lifestyle for a long time. Put it this way, I’d rather eat sushi over a McDonald’s hamburger any day of the weeK

Because i eat like this I don’t even need to count my macros. It’s very simple really

How are you supposed to cycle up a steep hill at 35 mph if you're not shredded?
