Plant Based or Vegan Misc'ers?

Any of you guys follow a plant based diet or vegan?

I've been following a handful of "vegan" fitness folks for years because the idea has always intrigued me. But then I go out for steak or have some cheese and it's glorious.

I consider myself pretty educated on both sides of the equation (did paleo for many years and have done quite a bit of research on plant based diets) and believe man evolved to eat, and thrived on meat. I do my best to get 100% grass fed, pay fcking $6 a carton for free range eggs, and only buy pasture raised chicken.

I honestly don't believe a "vegan" diet (no animal products) is optimal, but if it's like 90%+ of optimal and doesn't have to kill animals, seems pretty solid.

Animal products taste so damn good, but I really love animals and work with rescues and stuff and it's been starting to get to me.

If you're old and done growing, more veganish diet has it's benefits. If you're still growing, it's the worst diet you can take up.

Hell no. Don’t support huge factory farms. Get your own chickens for eggs. Raise livestock if possible. Or at the very least, support your small local farmer. I bought all the steaks from 3 cows from my neighbor and buy his pork. Haven’t bought meat from the grocery store in ages. Those animals had a good life and they taste way better.

I do. Hence my note about meat being involved in the human diet being a key piece of growth and development.

But let's be serious... modern technology has found a way to overcome that. Macros and macros and micros are micros. Supplement B12 and creatine and there's no reason a plant based diet can't fullfill your targets.

Most of us omnivores are taking multi's anyway.
