There were black people in the original GoT (rich guy working with the warlocks, unsullied). People don't like that a white character was replaced with a black one when black people are already the most overrepresented group in media.

GoT is not an exclusively white show. It represents the entire world and there were black, latino (dorne), middle eastern (dothraki), white, and even asian people (or at least the one east asian woman). But changing a character's race to overrepresent black people even more (diversity is always about black people) is just annoying.

haven't watched the episode yet but weren't the black people that people were complaining about supposed to be targaryens by the looks of their hair? changing their skin kind of messes up the targaryen story line about keeping their blood pure by using incest

I dont give a chit as long as everyone cast is good actors, but when its a meritless woke party rainbow of cultures on screen and they are all chit actors its simply not worth watching.

I havent found the first episode to be too badly woke at all, and dont have a problem with Velaryons casting.
