Any book collectors in misc?
Recently started buying hardcovers of books I enjoy off Ebay. I bought a lot of my favorite series (WoW) and found out that 2 of the 11 are signed by the author. I thought about trying to buy copies of the other 9 books (different authors for 1 series) and noticed they range from $25-100 typically. A few of the books weren't listed on Ebay so I wouldn't buy able to get all of them.
This would be the first thing I would actually try and collect. I know books with inscriptions + signatures are typically worth more, although it bothers me in a way a book being inscribed to someone else's name.

Goodwill is good for getting books. Found a few signed ones from time to time.

Booklover here. Just had a big order come in this week and am very happy.
I like finding new secondhand book stores and grabbing cool and interesting books on the cheap. I also use Abebooks and Book Depository for buying new stuff.
Only problem is, I'm almost out of bookcases so I'll have to organize to buy and move another big ass bookcase into my place. Good guy OP. I can count on one hand the people I know who read books on the reg, and even less read really mind expanding and intelligent books. Let me know what genres you like and I can try and recommend some chit. I've read broadly, shoot for at least 60 books to read a year.

Back off, Warchild.
Seriously.

I don't try to collect rare books or anything like that. Just good books from which I can learn. I do like old books, though. It was cool discovering in my parent's house a few old books from the 19th century that are supposedly worth a few hundred dollars.

I have some signed book by rock stars I like, also by Trump and Shawn Michaels.
Other than that, I own a lot of some novels(fantasy series)- not sure if I count that as collecting.

DragonLance with the main authors just released a new book this month after more than a decade. So I bought the hardcover.
No nerd.

I mainly borrow from the uni library, or download audio/ebooks. If I enjoy it enough, I go out and buy a physical copy. Slowly building a little collection for myself
