Why is it all or nothing with Rep and Dems?

Not just in Gov't politicians, but everyone. Why is there no such thing as independent thought?

Does it really seem possible everyone agrees with 100% of all policies of the party they believe in? Or are they just afraid of the backlash if they disagree on something?

I am a republican and agree with most GOP policies. However I am pro-choice. Does it make me a non-republican for disagreeing on 1 policy? Will I get kicked out of my party?

Why can't others admit there are policies in their own party they disagree with?

Because both sides use fear propaganda, and fear is the strongest emotion. Most people let it override rational thought.

Because most people aren't able to form rational coherent thoughts and opinions by themselves, so they need to be instructed how to think. Once they agree with certain points they get sucked in with confirmation bias.

I am libertarian, and both parties are authoritarian (in different ways) in order to control people. I disagree with a majority of what both parties are pushing.

OP I've had the same concerns for a long time. Its like ppl pick a R or D based on one issue, and then they just take everything that comes in that R or D box. It is insanity and really shows how dumb we are.

I'm largely R because I want smaller gov generally and more emphasis on local gov over fed gov.

But I'm also pro choice, believe in increasing taxes on the rich, generally don't get caught up in social issues. Repubs will call me a communist while Dems think I'm MAGA. I just think most ppl are dumb.

Because a lot of people don't think for themselves, they need to be told what to think. And those people are the most vocal too. That's why the misc is full of Trump cultists. That's why other board have equally retarded and actual 'libcucks'.

OMG SO EDGY! Yes, until it comes time to vote and there are literally two GD choices. There are also primary elections in which you can choose which individual person you want to represent the party and it actually gets close to decent people. They usually get passed over for some shill, but at least you can pretend that things might be better during primary season.

Because the two parties are identical in the vast majority of areas so they have to put on this show of hate in order to seem like there is a difference so that people will continue to vote for them and more importantly refrain from overthrowing the bull chit government. Interest groups and the two party system with overly broad tents

The republican party has everything from slightly leaning right independents to big money/interest groups to right wing extremists

The democratic party has everything from slightly leaning left independents to sjws/lgbts/minorities/unions to left wing extremists

In reality its the middle 50% that keeps the US on top, both ends are self-interested looking for gibs in one form or another

Agreed and the middle is getting stretched thin. Its always the extremist minority that seems to have the loudest voice.

Only people revealing party affiliation ITT are republican and the only issue they have is they aren't 100% anti-abortion. I don't think 100% no abortion is the official stance any way. I don't think you'd be ostracized from a conservative gathering, nor would you have your ideas blocked, just rebutted.
