YouTube Astronaut claims discrimination over space suit color

He makes a good case for unfair treatment. His trending video was age restricted, held up on appeal. It was pointed out that another popular tuber (white) included the same suspected offending material, then they undid the age restriction.

This isn't a logical thing to do at this point as YouTube has already declared that the material needs to be age restricted - why wouldn't YouTube just age restrict the other video?

So this guy pushes further with his YouTube agent guy asking what the deal is and then YouTube age restricts both their videos!

He claims there's a history of him being subject to extra scrutiny whenever his vids become popular, and claims racism. But I dunno if it has to be racism when more mundane incompetence which YouTube are famous for could explain it.

It ain't racism, cuz it's happening to almost every channel. They probably screw over a lot of the creators who rake in that level of cash.
I remember that one true crime channel kept battling with them, that was 2 white dudes.

Not only that but they have a whole program for "POC, women, LGBT" to sign up for that helps them get more views.

Yeah he covers that and says that the existence of that is racism (!) because it's condescending, patronizing etc, let them compete equally with everyone else. Damned if they do damned if they don't.

From what I've seen, I like Cory. Seems like an all around good dude. But I've been hearing about this same sh!t hitting everyone, so I just think the race aspect of it is lame.
He is right that it is patronizing / condescending to everyone. They should compete equally.

This has really blown up for YouTube. The original video was number 1 on YouTube - a video calling YouTube racist was number 1 on YouTube.

This one is #4 in gaming where a calm white dude covers it.
