Apple people, I need help and advice (srs)
My grandma gave my daughter her old iPad.
I wanted to factory reset it but it appears it's still tied to grandma's account.
Grandma can't remember her password (my uncle helped her set it up and apparently doesn't remember it either), so cheeky OP instructs daughter to try to use some guessable choices based on grandma's hobbies.
Daughter gets this paraphrased message after too many failed attempts: Your Apple ID is disabled. Go to appleid.apple.com to reset
- Do you think grandma's account is locked on all devices?
- My grandma can still use her iphone and newer iPad, will it prompt her to reset her password the next time she restarts her devices?
Grandma is bad with technology and she lives an hour away. Trying to avoid having to be the IT guy and driving there on a work night.
I'm ready to throw the old iPad in the trash, but I guess if there is a way to factory reset it without logging in to her account, let me know.

Yes, you can factory reset. I don’t know how old your is, but I had an old one as well and forgot the code. I had to turn it off. Plug it in and hold the power button and volume button. Should walk you through it from there. Depends on the model you have. I figured it out with the help of google.

Thanks for the factory reset advice. I'll Google some more.
But I'm still worried about grandma's account and if she will be locked out eventually unless I go over there to reset her password. My bro-theory is that Apple would most likely not lock the whole account because anyone would be able to lock someone out of their account if they just knew their username, which would piss people off.
