Stopped lifting weights and started running

Life is better this way, brahs.

Used to oly lift 3~4x a week. Got up to 385 lb front squat and 315 lb hang power clean, but I'd run out of breath after jogging a mile.

Started training MMA and realized all my lifting strength is useless when I'm gassing after just a minute of rolling. Now, I'm running 4~5 times a week and just doing pullups, dips, and situps after I'm done with running.

-More energy
-Feel & am actually healthier
-More sex0r stamina
-legs are no longer 29 inches, so I can actually fit into jeans
-Lean, athletic look that chicks love

Fk lifting weights unless you are trying to be a bodybuilder.

315 hang power clean is pretty nice brah I'm guessing you still have a lot of meat left over from those days which is why you are stoked about not lifting. Give it another year and one day you'll be walking past a mirror and think "lmao who is that twink phsggot with stick legs and no traps or delts" and immediately realize it's you, and you will collapse in misery and have to get back in the weight room to remedy this grievous miscalculation. Best of luck with your atrophy goals of 2022 brah.

No doubt running and slimming down works well by itself. But unless you'd just rather be the leaned out slim guy who looks like a twink, because just doing basic body exercises will only lean out the muscle, then I guess go for it. But even just a little bit of lifting will do wonders for at least filling out your overall frame. Bolstering your frame while being lean will give you better results then just sticking to one side or the other. I see guys who are lifetime runners and when things start getting rough for whatever reason they fall hard and fast. I also see guys who only lift and again, if something happens, they also fall hard and fast, even more so like a deflated balloon. Having seen guys who balance both and are leaned out while still having a little bit of bulk to them has always been impressive and a bit of a jelly factor. Having been doing both myself, I can say that hitting the cardio is enjoyable in its own sense and knowing I'm working to shred down the fat but also getting that sweet muscle pump and ache but seeing things fill out more is also very enjoyable too. Nice starting to have certain clothes that were to loose becoming comfortable fits or sometimes even too tight in the upper body but at the same time having pants needed to be cinched up more because getting slimmer. Just balance both and lean more one way than the other. No need to cut it out completely.

This, except I switched out running for just not doing anything. One day I got to the point where I felt ashamed and disappointed in myself and started getting to work on it. It's a road that sucks but even only being back at it for about a month I can easily tell I have either gotten up to the level or have passed others I know who have been consistently doing it for awhile. Fortunately I have always had a broad and good frame which helps but I tend to go incognito in the gym with either a hoodie or a baggy zip up jacket because I feel I am not at the point of being able to confidently parade my progress. But I will say that at the end of the day aside from the stubborn stomach, the rest is starting to look joocy.

When did I ever post how great I am? I only write facts about myself. If you look at my post history, I'm sure you'd find everything I say about myself has been consistent over the years. I don't add any BS, brah.

Why you feeling insecure? Is it that hard to believe some people on this forum actually lift and bang sloots occasionally?

They definitely do. Just not as much as most people think. I'm certain most 170-lb fighters (most of them walk around at ~200 lb) can't even bench 275 lb or squat more than 350 lb.
