I can’t do barbell ohp anymore unless it’s seated in a smith machine, Fml
But I always felt barbell helped more for strength, can draw out longer time under tension with proper form using dumbbells or smith machine, for hypotrophy sake.

I think DB because they can be more inline with your head instead of in front and engage the rear delts better.

OVERALL mass? probably the BB. If you mean mass specifically for the front delts, probably DB. It's a lot easier to bias your delts with DB than BB. Or most any other muscle group for that matter.

I never see people do dumbbell ohp right so tbh I think barbell is better for most.
People usually cut ROM big time with dumbells

yea if you keep the weight perfectly in line with your COG then you can press way more, but if you let the weight stay a bit in front of you like with a BB OHP then you actually bias your front delts. people pressing 80's with DBs when if they did it right would struggle with 50's or 60's.

Barbell.
But, in PPLX2, one of my push days is for barbell OHP as the primary movement. On my other day, it's an accessory movement with dumbbells for 4 sets.
