Anyone prefer v6 or v8 to engines?
Haven’t experienced a v8 yet. Is it worth it?

I have a 22 Silverado 1500 with a 6.2 Liter V8. I think it's around 420HP. Pretty fun to drive and the engine sounds awesome.

I got nothing against V6's.
My problem is my personality Venn diagram overlaps with purists so it depends on the context.
Example: to me, there is no good reason why V6 Camaros and Mustangs exist. None.
However, at the same time, I have absolutely no problem with V6 trucks like some do because to me the context is in the purpose.
The muscle car needs to sound like it actually has muscle and should make ground shaking power naturally aspirated - before the turbos go on.
The truck just needs to be able to do truck stuff. My twin turbo v6 F150 makes just as much power and has just as much towing capacity as the v8 - especially tuned.
So I don't care that it doesn't have that iconic v8 sound.

V8 just feels amazing to cruise around in. The way the throttle is tied to the power delivery, the noise and vibration, the hnnnngh sound of a big V8, feelsgoodman. Cruising around is just enjoyable with the V8 in a way a boosted V6 isn't (srs). Naturally aspirated V8s aren't that fast by today's standards, but they sound incredible at WOT and are fun to romp around in.

Depends on the marque because not all motors are created equally. For example, very difficult to beat the character of a BMW Motorsports inline six or Porsche flat six. For decades they beat snot out of their V8 competitors from Ford and GM. Overall so many great motors in both configurations; Mercedes M113, Toyota 2JZ, E-type Jag, BMW E39 M5, BMW M1, 911 Turbo S, Ferrari 355, and the list can go on and on and on...

Actually now that I think about, I have been a V8. My hybrid is a V6 but with an included electric motor(hybrid), it touts to be on par with V8 performance. Strong car, but its sluggish still for an SUV.
