boyos is getting a CDL worth it?
genuinely curious…. i mean I’d rather not drive an 18 wheeler but i’m thinking of ways to escape the living paycheck to paycheck life and driving experience is what i have the most of out of like my entire job history
so i mean yeah, i could get driving jobs without a CDL of course but i’m just wondering if it would be worth it as far as how much more it might open me up to
but i don’t wanna deal with having to drive like a standard or messing with a clutch or any chit like that. I just wanna drive automatic lol
also i can’t be gone all the time or a bunch either cuz of me being a single dad with full custody so that wouldn’t exactly work
but need thoughts/comments from u lads, especially those with driving jobs
honestly don’t seem bad tho if all u had to do was just transport loads or whatever and don’t have to help with unloading or any of that chit lol, just straight drop and go or pull up and hook up to something and just roll out
I’ve heard of something like hotshot driving? I think is what it is
and I’ve honestly considered going to maybe like Amazon or back to UPS to maybe drive…. i’ve been there in the past but just as a package handler and i used to drive for FedEx also

I have 2 family members and 1 family friend who got their CDLs about 2 years ago, two are making $80-90k, and one is making $100-110k, all have hazmat endorsements.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

there is a way to play it - like the demand for truckers goes through ebbs and flows so there are guys that only drive when the pay is super high during the year and do other work when the pay is low.
