Before the vax the infection fatality rate in the very obese US was 1 in 300, noticeably less in less obese countries. If the entire planet caught the original form of the virus we'd have 15-16 million deaths globally from it. Weaker Omicron itself helped prevent that. And the vaxes were helpful to people over age 60 in 2021. Since then, meh.

I get really bad reflux after i pretty much eat anything (and drink coffee) started around 3 months after the 2nd shot, ded srs

Had rona last week. Got the RX for Paxlovid on day 2 because I felt like trash. Woke up next morning right as rain, finished doses on day 5 and totally rona free. Hell, day 3 I was doing prison workouts at home because I couldn't go out still. Repped

Try closer to 40 million. Not to mention the WH virus was considerably more benign than Alpha and Delta, which were the predominant variants in most countries at the time of vaccine distribution and early uptake. Vaccination also reduces the risk of death during reinfection, so you can add that to the lives saved. Had we let this virus run rampant and without any vaccination, it’s not a stretch to say we could be at 50-60 million global deaths today. The consensus is clear — vaccines have saved many millions of lives.
