IT nerds get the fuk in here

i just failed ccna is it time to rope?

btw i'm a network engineer in a non Cisco shop.

so it was all new besides the basics network stuff.

I'm going to reattempt it again in two weeks but.........

I mean most ppl take the ccna to get to the network engineer role that you have.

Imo having experience doesnt really help out much w the ccna especially if Cisco isnt even involved.

It can probably get in the way.

Fwiw though i passed the ccna in 6 weeks with 0 experience. I feel its easier when youre a blank canvas.

i mean lldp=cdp alot of it crosses over. some of the commands are fkn with my job as i'm trying to run cisco commands on extreme equipment and juniper routers

lol

but lots of it is strictly cisco bs

I agree. What were your percentages in each category?

I know you have the protocol/routing and switching knowledge but 80% of this test is a vocab test….knowing cisco specific commands in their entirety and knowing the tedious details of every protocol being tested like hello message frequency.

Im gonna take the CCNP Encor next month and its an even bigger vocab test.

Pretty lame tbh
