If you're about dat life then yeah fairly accurate.

For the average person with no affiliation to the gangs it's pretty safe tbh.

If you hang in those circles or know someone that does, then yes. You could be jumped and messed up just by association, or from the wrong area.

My mode of public transport was stopped a number of times last year, due to stabbings further up the road.

I see gang trouble weekly, people being chased, punch ups.

Croydon is no joke.

Croydon varies like crazy. There is a huge difference between Thornton Heath and Purley.

I haven't been to Croydon in about 20 years (I used to train at muscle fx), but if you walked from Whitgift to Mayday hospital, the moment you left the pedestrianised bit and walked past KFC, it just got steadily worse the further you went.

Its the whole highstreet now mate, Whitgift is falling apart, all the big shops gone. However East Croydon is getting a chit ton of new developments.

Fairly accurate do not approach groups of black africans in ldn cos these mans will chef you up still.

Unless you live in west london or central london where black african folk cant afford to live.

That doesn't surprise me about East Croydon. It's zone 5 but only 13 minutes (IIRC) in to Victoria from East Croydon station.

That makes it very high in affordability v travel time.

I lived in Hounslow when I was at Uni (many years ago). Lots of gang crime but you were relatively safe if you weren't part of one.

Gangs in the UK are junior squad compared to US gangs. The same dude who "wets" 1 or 2 dudes over rep or some stolen goods in the UK shoots and kills 2-5 on a weekend here over dealing coke or ********, and will do it more times than the UK stabber before getting caught. If they don't figure it out in a couple of days they basically give up here, move on to the next.

There is very little of the old school gangs froms South London etc, it is all Albanians and stuff now (Albanians are the more organised elements and more like "real gangs". The black on black county lines drug gangs etc are small groups beefing with each other over pocket change). Even with all the recent imports, we still sit at the 800-900 murders a year.

As long as you avoid certain places and don't deliberately put yourself in stupid situations, the UK is pretty safe. This is why the kids of all the stupidly rich Russians, Arabs, Africans, South Americans etc study in the UK: the wealthy see it as a safe place for their kids, wives, mistresses etc
