Panhandling, begging for money, and crime is all gonna rise. Big cities will be overrun. This is what the Democrats want.

If the number of dwellings remains roughly the same, and the number of people remains roughly the same, why would there be any great net change in homelessness?

Because while inflation was 8-9%, salaries didn't increase by anywhere close to that and cost of rentals increased by 20%.

So give the average household 10% more expensive everything PLUS 20% more expensive rent and surprised pikachu face they can't afford anything.

Yeah, but there's a whole lot of speculative/demand driven pricing in housing i.e. the price can go up AND down, rent and own price.
