Drinking problem of peace

Why is it that when I buy alcohol I feel like I have to finish all of it? Even though I’m tired and ready to go to bed. It’s like I feel some obligation.

You’re supposed to have an alcohol collection. The only way to do that is to drink moderately. Think about how cool of a bar you could create. If you didn’t finish every bottle you bought immediately.

Because the longer you keep drinking more the euphoria stays

As soon as you stop and your body is just metabolizing it, depression mode kicks in

Even if you don’t actively notice it, your brain chemistry changes and yours body knows what will keep the good stuff going and hold off the bad stuff.

You crossed the line from casual drinker to developing an allergy, disease, obsession… or alcoholic is another term. There is not going back to ever drinking normally again, complete abstinence is the only solution. Dead srs.

Completely agree. It’s just a matter of me making that decision because I don’t want to make it until I know I’m ready and I can do it. I need a swift kick in the ass.

I often feel like I'm the same way, though perhaps to a lesser extent. If I buy a liquor bottle that's 750mL or bigger, I down it in 3-5 days just about every time. Doesn't matter if it's exactly 750mL, or if it's 1.75L.

If I buy a 6 pack of beer, I'll drink AT LEAST 4 beers that day, along with another tallboy or two that I bought along side it.

I still sometimes buy 4lokos and drink it alongside another tall boy light beer.

I haven't drank since either Tues or Weds, and don't plan on drinking anymore at all unless it's social SRS. That's where I phark up. I think the only time it's OK to drink alone is if you're anticipating a new video game or something and want a great kickstart. Otherwise, AT LEAST go out and be with other people if you drink, srs.

There's a girl I've started seeing, and one of her things she cares about is to avoid dating an alcoholic. She drinks one beer max if she drives... and I bet even when she doesn't she limits herself to like 4 drinks max. Getting too drunk is embarrassing 100% of the time. You know you're an alcoholic when you try to justify it, or drink anyways regardless if you keep acting a fool. You know you're an alcoholic if you drink alone often.
