My craftsman ones are just clunky and feel like they’re going to fall

I would stay away from Horrible Freight jack stands. I think some were recently recalled if you google it. Maybe its just me but something keeping 2 tons of steel from crushing my skull into jelly is not where i want to skimp on.

I know that feel.

I don't use Jack Stands anymore. I use 6"x6" or 9"x9" timber cut in 18" lengths. Absolutely no chance of the car falling even on purpose.

Mike Hall from 'Rust Valley Restorers' said a friend of his died when the jacks failed and he was crushed.

I’m not sure I can picture what you’re talking about? Just pieces of wood underneath? Yeah I don’t trust jack stands at all. I usually still keep my jack under the vehicle as well.

Yeah I use double stands too. But they’re clunky and don’t feel solid there’s gotta be a better way
