Just wanted to collectively lol at the Hummer EV "pickup truck"

Toyota Rav4 Weight - 3,500 pounds.
BMW X5 Weight - 5,000 pounds.
Mercedes Gwagon Weight - 6,000 pounds

Hummer EV - 9,000 pounds

The center console screen animations are fuking hilarious. Literally a 6 figure toy.

Funny you should mention that. I was hating on the broncos ever since they started rolling out the reboot THEN i saw a youtube video of the Bronco Raptor. Wildly unnecessary, but insanely cool.

I agree to a point. Tesla model3's are now about as common as a new camry or c-class mercedes in my area, but i think people are realizing it's not amazing as they originally believed. I feel like people get in them and are wowed by the glass roof, quickness of the 0 to 40 sprint, and elaborateness of the tech. That said, the interior quality is downright abysmal. I've had several Model3s pick me up as an uber... cheapest pieces of chit i've ever sat in. Makes a new camry feel like an s-class.

I won't hate on the idea of EVs/Hybrids coming off the $7/gallon gas prices we just witnessed but i'm looking forward to when EV designs come back down to earth a bit. Right now the Audi E-trons, and the soon to be released Genesis G80EV are the only EVs under $100,000 that dont seem full retard in design/quality. I still have no interest in owning an EV though.

These things are just really impractical and highly limited in their usability outside of urban environments. For something that is supposed to revolve around the wilderness like the Hummer, that's a real problem. With ICE off-roaders you could just bring some spare gas cans with you, and filling up is quick and easy, and you could do it just about anywhere. Have fun dealing with a dead EV in the wild and trying to charge it up when you're away from the luxuries of a urban environment.

But yeah, you are definitely right about the Tesla Model 3, it's one of those things where everyone got one thinking it's this fancy luxury object, when it's really just the latest version of someone buying something like a BMW 3 series. They have pretty much become the new Prius driving demographic here in California.

Been thinking about getting an EV just to round things out and have in a pinch if needed.

Might as well go full retard if I do, and I think the gimmicks fit it lmao.

That and the Rivian are sick AF

But I think they're both over-engineered (or maybe appropriately designed for how powerful they are). I'll wait for a lighter, tamer model in a few years.

What's the carbon footprint on road maintenance when everyone is driving 9,000 lb cars around?

Do you really think anybody really gives a damn about this? How many times do you go on these extended wilderness trips? Lol at trying to downplay the use of the vehicle as a whole by providing a nuanced instance. Nobody that does that is going to buy one of these anyways

Keep a gas vehicle if you plan on playing Lawrence of Arabia

This vehicle is a completely pointless and an incredibly wasteful piece of chit if you never intend to take it offroad, that is literally the only selling point it's really got for why it is the way it is.

Well what's the carbon footprint for producing them alone if you never intend to take it offroad. Literally adding tons of weight just because you want to larp around like a retard.

I just find it hilarious all the side effects of EV's when you actually think about it.

Luckily, no one I know who bought a model S did so because of the environment LMAO.

Lol so true, only guy I know who bought a Tesla became this total Hollywood douchebag that basically got it just to try and flex and fit in.

Looks kinda cool. No idea who's going to buy one. Better keep a tablet in there so you can watch Avatar or half a season of a TV show while it charges at a station.

I think he puts it best at 5:43 in the video "this is one of those trucks people buy when they really don't need a truck but just a big... tank-like fun vehicle... that COULD offroad if you wanted to i guess... probably?"

legit lol'd at that. but yeah basically the entire G-Wagon demographic with even less practicality. everyone knows the oFfRoAd CaPaBiLiTy of a G-Wagon, but everyone also knows no one gets one for that. it's a city "truck" to flex.

I never liked mercedes much. My dad had a decent E-class for a while, and a couple c-classes but I never though the cars were cool.

g-wagons are ugly AF.

Oh I already know the kind of people I'll see driving these around in places like Hollywood. Only places where it could work, ironically enough.
