need help with my phone pls
screen on my S7 stopped working. phone still works but i can't use it all since the whole screen is either black or fuzzy white.
bought a new google phone. used Google Drive restore to get most of the stuff on my old phone onto my new phone but not everything went over. maybe i wasn't backing up regularly.
-whatsapp saved all the groups and contacts but none of the chats, they're all gone.
-contacts list is gone. some of them got restored within in an hour of setting up the new phone but not a lot.
-note app is gone. had some important stuff in there. i can't even find that app in the play store now.
-none of my photos got restored onto the new phone.
is there any way to access my old phone and retrieve all these files?

1. Get the screen replaced.
2. Connect your phone to your PC. - To do this though, you'll need to enable the use of a secondary screen on the phone itself. So... when you say it's black or fuzzy white, can you literally not see anything but that?
Second option btw, you need to enable USB debugging, and download an app on your PC called scrcpy.

What is note app? What did you use for your photos app? Contacts can either be saved to your gmail acct or the device and I don't like that option. It used to be just gmail account, so you'd always keep them. Well, first it was just the device.
You can try to hook it up to a monitor and work it that way. May be difficult if you can't unlock it. I've heard of that being possible, but never done it. You can always try to get the screen fixed. You can buy a cheap screen online somewhere and just plug it in to retrieve data. I've never worked on an S7, so I don't know how hard that would be.
If you're using Android use Google photos. It is cloud based and your photos will never be lost.

When saving contacts to your phone you need to save them to your email and not directly onto your phone. That's the only way to restore them to your new phone aside from saving them all on your SD card. Luckily you can always go in and change the setting to allow this to happen

ty for replies. will try to connect phone to a laptop. but i can't even use my phone. might take it to a phone repair guy, see if he has some tricks up his sleeve. but the last one i went to said he can only replace the screen and that's not worth it.
yeah cant see anything on my old phone. it's fully black. if i turn in and off, the screen becomes white for awhile. sometimes i'll get a glimpse of the home screen but touch-screen doesn't work so i can't do anything.
only some of my contacts got saved. i'm guessing those were the ones i saved to Google, and the rest I saved to the phone.

If you find a phone guy who can do adb debugging, you may be in business. Idk how easy that will be to find though. I have an old S7 at my house I think.
