If bias exists in the training data - which is usually from humans, then yes.
Press love this sh!t. AI is nothing more than a clever mimic of whatever process it is trained on.
Of course it could also be bias on the part of the programmer - e.g. only selecting white faces for a facial recognition algorithm.

If the definition of sexism and racism is inequity, then yes. If the definition is explicit bias toward such groups for no reason, the answer is no.

if you know how AI is created this makes a lot more sense
like suffolk said you're feeding training data into an algorithm. so if you're judging beauty, you're feeding images as well as beauty scores into an algorithm. the algorithm then "learns" the traits that are beautiful.
problem is SOMEONE had to have given the beauty scores to the training data set. so the AI will reflect the bias represented in the training set

Machine learning works on the data you give it.
It matches patterns in data. If you're training a model to find candidate for a particular job and the data you taught it with has a built in bias such as you give it 90% data that are male CVs as the positive ones then it will base all of its knowledge off that data.
Thatmightbe because simply men are more likely to be in STEM, men tend to write in a particular way, they only give it examples of male CVs and the CVs contain male features such as a males name etc.
The answer is no it isn't its just a model that learns from the data its given and infers things based on the data it learned from.
In terms of racism also no its common knowledge that cameras struggle with dark surfaces and light has a huge impact on computer vision
