Is being humble in victory and defeat the eaesier option? I think so

Many always seem to say, being humble is the harder thing to do. Whether it is in defeat and accepting you were bettered or whether in victory and knowing the moment is temporary. But is this really the harder thing for a human to? It seems to flow with human nature rather than go against it. For example, when losing or taking a loss humans normally recoil and try to lay low to....very rarely do you have someone fighting back against all odds after being bested. So why do people say it's harder to be humble in defeat?

As for winning, are people actually humble for the sake of humility or for the outward appearance of humbleness. It's easier to be humble in victory, you already won and have a likeable persona is rather another victory for the winner. Being a brutal conqueror and boasting and bragging is the harder road to take in victory as it comes with hate and envy from others.

Thoughts?

Bragging is for the inexperienced. I used to do it a lot in business, but now everything I do is just another good or bad decision. I can get excited but I just tell my wife instead of getting emotional at work.

the GOAT. Perhaps the most notorious bragger around? To be humble in your loss is to give up. Humble in victory for most is just a front for others.

Real talk - atomized individualistic Western society does not reward humility. You need to grab attention for yourself. You need to be a promoter. That's why all your richest and most famous people in this country are narcissistic psychopaths.

It is the easier option. It takes no energy to be humble.
