Dave Ramsey - Gazelle Card

I thought this dude was against using banks and plastics, what changed?

A lot of what is available on this card of his are basically perks that he himself has said before are, stupid - hypocrite much?

Guessing his market of low iq followers is slowly dwindling and he needed to find a new money grab for his own bank account.

SMH if you actually believed this guy was genuine.

Dave has always been a huge proponent ofdebitcards, which is this product. Cash is preferred, but impossible for some purchases. Dave has routinely stated he and his company use debit cards all the time.

He opposes "cash-back rewards" oncreditcards, because they typically fool people into spending more money and eventually paying interest when they can't cover the full bill some month. With a debit card, you can't spend more than you have in the account. Granted, this aspect does seem weird within the overall framework of Dave's advice, but it's not in direct conflict.

In general, not sure of the advantage with this product. I'll stick with my existing debit cards and accounts

Did you watch the video? Because most of what the card he's made to shill to his loyal fans is almost everything he stands against and preaches people don't do.

Hell, he even encourages people to use the card 10-20x per month, minimum, all so that he can line his pockets w/ kick-backs he gets when his card is used - not to mention its a cash back card.

Face it, the guys a con man and many of you believed he was genuine.

If you are a very low income earner the only way to have even a shot at financial independence is to increase your income. Saving habits are secondary.

If that’s not possible the best advice is to find an immigration pathway to a country with a livable minimum wage and public healthcare

I think anymore Dave is just trying to expand his empire to things that don't require his personal efforts so his kids can carry on the business. I listen to his podcasts but only when he is on because I have learned alot from the callers that are in weird situations where there isn't a straight forward answer.

I think outside of the value he personally brings to the company, it is not going to last long. I think its also downright moronic when he and Dr. John Delony get on there with disgruntled spouses and bash the other side without even knowing the whole story.

Boomer Dave is nothing but a salesperson. Any one who takes his advise as gospel is a fool. But hurry up and buy those books and tickets see his "personalities."

*I*, in fact, can't. Because I don't have overdraft protection. You're arguing semantics, and basically sayingDave's advice doesn't work when you don't actually follow his advice.

Sadly, the majority of people simply don't have a shot at financial independence. It's not statistically possible. It also requires a certain degree of intelligence, good fortune, and discipline. The amount of each required is dependent on how much of the others you have.

That said, almost all low-income people could change their situation to be drastically better if they had better money management. I know that I certainly could have when I was younger and made <$40k.

I watched about 50% of the video. Enough to realize you don't know anything about Dave Ramsey or his principles so your entire argument is invalid. I'm not sure what your point of this thread is but you don't even have a basic grasp of the what and why of Dave Ramsey's ideas.

-He preaches creating a budget and using cash in that budget for a reason.
-He preaches avoiding credit cards at all costs for a reason.
-He acknowledges & advocates using debit cards for a reason.

This is basically just a Dave Ramsey debit card/app/banking system for his followers to use. Smart move on his part. It doesn't invalidate any of his teachings/principles.

There are plenty of low income people that find financial freedom using Dave Ramseys methods. Most people won't, because they are too stupid. But its possible.

I know a few people that used his program to get debt free/retire millionaires and they are very much average income.
