Someone cloned my SIM card and is trying to take over my ID

Cliffs:
- Apparently someone managed to clone my SIM card and has a 1:1 replica at this point
- He started requesting whatsapp verifications at 3 AM on saturday
- By saturday early morning he had taken over my Whatsapp and has set up a double verification PIN routed to his email

By saturday afternoon he had requested money from several of my contacts, is trying to take over my FB and MAY have requested access to the bank accounts that he managed to tie to my email, luckily most of money was transfered to my relatives earlier this month

I didnt even know this type of fraud was a thing, but it can be done by any employee working for cellphone companies, its called SIM Swapping, so take care misc

apple to the rescue. no sims!
Look, this is no minor issue, most banks in Mexico allow you to change PIN or verify transactions with SMS as a second verification. From my Google search there were atleast 300 cases in the US recently

I would be broke had i not moved my money weeks ago

Can you close your bank accounts and delete all social media accounts?

Call your cell phone provided. Have them deactivate the sim card

I dont think i had 2FA for whatsapp so it is completely stolen at this point.

See ymer’s post for how 2FA is the BIGGEST joke ever, if someone clones your SMS inbox he can take over almost any account that uses it to take over control
