If you interview on a Friday, you aren’t a serious candidate (theory)
Of all the job interviews I’ve had, seems like if they schedule it on a Friday, odds are you aren’t a serious candidate.
Few times now this has happened and then Monday I get a thank you, but fk you email.
Have an interview next Friday so will test this theory again.

By friday, everyone has already mentally checked out for the weekend... if a hiring manager scheduled an interview for a friday, it means he's just trying to fill up his day with pointless meetings so he doesn't have to do any actual work....
So you're right, if your interview is scheduled friday you're probably just helping him kill some hours during the day... he doesn't take you seriously.

As someone who used to do my own hiring, the date of the week didn't factor into it at all. It was more working around a time when both myself and the interviewee were free. Friday actually seems like it'd be a good day because there aren't many Friday meetings.

Trader Joe's used to schedule prospective vendors for their first meeting on Friday evening to weed out all the ones who weren't serious.
Seems like a brilliant strategy imo.

Interviews on saturdays and sundays are not uncommon.
If the candidate is good enough and you cannot make regular business hours work, you do it outside of business hours.

Of course it depends on the interviewers, but if they're mental afk and checked out for your interview, fk that company anyway.
tldr: interviews are scheduled asap, often by HR therefore unrelated to a preferred candidate.
