no need to hide it. admins should just do what they did before misc went hidden: prevent new accounts from posting in the misc, or at least figure out a way to prevent them from creating threads until they've been members for at least a week.

I can make myself appear to be anywhere in the world.

Because I'm a current events junky and have been since before my teens, I've been on lots of forums over the years and currently have at least a dozen I frequent to read, although I only post on three.

I've never seen this problem with a spammer being unstopped on any other forum, nor most of the other srs problems this forum has for that matter.

People like Wincel can be dealt with effectively and other forums have ways of doing it but I'm not gonna post those options publicly. It wouldn't have anything to do with Hells Angels, Black Gangs, Mexican Cartels, NSA, FBI, Interpol, mercenaries, or drone strikes.

maybe.
but it would be a manual process because "detecting a VPN" is actually seeing that the IP belongs to a hosting service.
then you have to find the range of ip addresses they own and block them.
VPN's though have different hosting services to fall back on.
this is how they keep their clients anonymous.
I suppose eventually they can lock them all out and the chitstain will need to go get a new VPN service to keep it up.
