link me where you see 5.25%
3% cash back in the category of your choice: gas, online shopping, dining, travel, drug stores, or home improvement/furnishings

2% cash back at grocery stores and wholesale clubs

1% cash back on all other purchases

You’ll earn 3% and 2% cash back on the first $2,500 in combined choice category/grocery store/wholesale club purchases each quarter, then earn 1%

gotta get on that preferred rewards time for 75% bonus rewards brah. That pushes 3% up to 5.25%, 2% to 3.5%, 1% to 1.75% (and the base 1.5% cashback on the black card to 2.63%)

I have been researching this on and off for several years (just to see if there's anything out there that can make me switch from BofA), and BigRangs on these forums agrees btw, that there aren't any cards on the market currently that can top the BofA cards in rewards (srs)

Yeah ot bad, I did that with my sapphire preferred. Cash back is just meh I think like 1% everything, 5x on travel through their program, 3x on dining and 2x on all other travel.

$600 bonus for spending like $4k in first month though with an additional $100 or something if you used it with their reward program. $22k limit which was more than enough at 25 but is getting a little problematic now.

I mean... are u rly spending that much to reap any serious benefits from them?

Unless u have a large family to feed or a business, ur making a couple bucks more compared to any other CC.

BoA has chitty customer service with long wait times on phone if u ever need something. Also the UX sucks for online banking (unless they updated it since the last time i used it in 2019).

Chase is the GOAT for everyday normies imo.

I have the BofA premium rewards card because it's basically a free 2.63% cash back card (lol @ poors who don't have at least $100K in assets) after I use their credit to buy earlybird on Southwest.BofA's service sucks ass though men.

I'm thinking of shifting most of my spend to the Chase system (Sapphire Preferred and Chase Freedom Unlimited) because the wait time is less and I can transfer points to Hyatt, which is better value than 2.63% cash back.

BoA offers free ATM usage worldwide as well (srs) I use that frequently, very useful

feels good receiving the best credit card rewards possible with zero ATM fees

That’s awesome of course but still why not use them? It’s free money and simplifies your budget.

free money?? LOL

brb high interest if not paid in full. even higher if not paid minimum.

if you wanna gamble on making sure you pay properly every month like a bank account budget good on you but most people cant and i rather use it more for rare costly purchases or emergency money.

Is there an annual limit on those categories?

Also, I have you beat. I got 20x points on restaurants and small businesses on my Platinum this year. I'm at a million points thanks to that.

If you've ever paid interest on a cc balance, you need to stop using cc's and get your budget in check. Never carry a balance you can't cover in full, and you'll never have to worry about that. Then yes, it's free money. interest free loan of a few thousand bucks every month, and you get perks and cash back.

Why would you not? It is more economical to use the card and pay it in full.

20 points per dollar spent. A point is worth (on average) one cent in redemption. So I effectively had 20% cash back from small businesses or restaurants for most of the year. I banked around 500k points from that promo alone.
