Smart phones and social media should be banned from existance

Seriously, this would fix SO MANY PROBLEMS. Tell twitter, tiktoc, instagram, ********, iphone, android and all of the other toxic garbage out there good bye. No one needs this crap. It is ruining society. People are becoming addicted to the dopamine rush of "notifications." ******** seems like the "least offender" here but its actually the biggest one because it turned us all into this.

Everywhere you go, everyone under 50 is staring at a screen. Young people in particular live in a world of online everything. Kids dont play outside anymore. It's actually sad and you can only partially blame the people but in reality its these companies. I would gladly give up my smart phone immediately if such a thing ever happened.

Cell phones as an actual PHONE is fine. You can do everything you need with this:

I went to college from 2008-2013. Probably just barely made it before the rush. People were fun, people were social.

Imagine going to a college party now with a bunch of awkward zoomers all showing eachother tiktoc videos and some ****g0t dancing and asking people to record him.

Air pods is also a visible sign that you don't have the ability to interact with other humans unless you are wearing them for a reason like jogging or w/e. Lol @ wearing air pods while walking around in public because can't be detached from social media for 5 seconds.

countless times i've watched females pull out their phones to do nothing. it's a habit at that point.

Many people don't and and are awkward i even know extroverts now that are really awkward and when they socialize its just about stuff they saw on social media, tv or playing some video games on twitch or something. The culture has completely shifted into a digital-consumer based culture. Around 2008-2013 literally nobody i knew was on social media or ever talked about it. We talked about stuff we were doing irl and did the typical locker room talk stuff but it wasn't like this. There's a huge difference between how people in their 20s now interact compared to how we did in our 20s. We barely made the cutoff of growing up in a normal and non social media world.

I think you can keep the smartphone and all its apps that are very useful.

It’s the social media that needs to go.

Obviously that’ll never happen unfortunately.

But I see no problems with all the other apps like GPS, weather, camera, music, streaming, etc. maybe the news apps are bad too but again it’s social media that knocks the train off the rails.

What’s wrong with social media? A lot of things.

It’s fueling low level narcissism in people who think their lives and opinions are soooo important that they have to make it a thing to tell everybody about it. It gets you addicted through dopamine hits through likes. it’s fukking with the psychology of children who use it, especially middle school girls it’s really fukking with their heads. Go look it up. And people use the pages they follow to live in a complete echo chamber where you can block out any news sources that don’t confirm your own bias. People are getting depressed as hell comparing their lives with their peers. The list is never ending.
