First song that struck you as a kid?



It's very subjective but i remember very vividly being a kid in late 2000's in a computer gaming arcade with my friends and listening to this exact song.

Any brahs have a similar experience with their childhood friends?

I ran by the seagulls

Remember the bus driver playing k earth 101 (station here that plays hits from 70’ -90’s

It would come up every now and then and I had no idea who sang it and no clue how to find out but everytime it came on I would ignore everyone and just zone out (srs)

This was around 2000 when I was in like 3rd -4th grade

I knew all the lyrics when I was like 3 years old.

Story came full circle when I waited tables at a steakhouse in NYC from 2017-2020 and met this girl who started working there as well. She posted a story of her at a Spin Doctors concert in Brooklyn, and I dmd her telling her I love the Spin Doctors. She was/is the drummers girlfriend. Got to meet the band. Cool dudes.

When I was a super young kid I thought Aaron Carter was cool and when I was a teen I thought Avril Lavigne was hot.

Obvious thoughts for those would be "I want candy" , and either "Complicated" or "Sk8er boi".

Songs that gave me the feels though were "Cat's in the Cradle" and "Fast Car".

I just looked up the band on wikipedia for chits and giggles after reading your post.

Apparently, they fired their longtime bassist Mark White earlier this year due to him refusing to get a covid vaccine. That alone makes me think the remaining band members must be complete fkn douchebags.

When I was like 7 yrs old in 1995 I remember every time I would go to bed. Seal-Kiss from a Rose would always play on the radio every night.


Fastball- The Way...late 90's I want to say 98? I was 10, and that summer my friends and I would sing the song when we walked to the pool.

I remember that song, too. Great song; it was playing all the time during one of my favorite summers of my late childhood, too. I can't hear that song without thinking about that whole summer; can't think of that summer without reminiscing about that song, either.
