how to not get old and misreable

it must ****ing suck getting older, i mean like older as in 60+. but it's inevitable. so i find old people either go 1 of two ways, either they take it all too seriously and let it destroy them - or they just let go completely

Keep active

Eat right

You'll be fine.

The humber 1 problem with being 60+ is your friends start dying off. It does get lonely.

STAY BUSY.

The main thing I see with old people who are miserable is that they all watch MSM.... Whether it's fox, or CNN, they all legit just retire and sit around watching it, and they just lose their chit.

Our generation tapped into this idle mind trap when covid hit, suddenly all the millennials were as insane as their grandparents.

Take care of yourself. Eat right, sleep well, but most importantly find something you love doing.

I dont ever want to “retire”

The happy old people I know are in good shape and have an active social life. Push away toxic BS, and you’ll be happy.

Have children with a nice person and be nice to your children.

Cut out bad people from your life

Keep active

Physically i'm better than ever at 33 but i don't feel the same as i did in my 20's. 40's is probably gonna suck because you are legit old and irrelevant then.

Its all about your mindset and making sure you have proper balance in every aspect of life, i.e. work to live, don't live to work

You must do things that make you happy and think positively to make sure you don't have a toxic subconscious that will wreak havoc on you mind, body, soul.

Have a good social support system, have sex regularly, fast occasionally, build your life up and have good experiences.

Eat right and exercise, stretch etc every day, go to sleep on time/wake up same time (proper sleep is ultra important. No staying up at night late and or missing sleep that ages you RAPIDLY).

Lots of good advice so far. Stay active and healthy, maintain relationships with people who are important to you, sleep good, etc. But I’d say the single biggest factor is gratitude. Without it you just get bitter and resentful a larger and larger part of your existence. If you ever watch documentaries of famous people(or anyone really)…they could be times in their life when they have everything person could dream of; money, fake, women, luxury, travels, etc. and not really be happy. And then after their prime when they come to terms with the demons they were battling and see the world with appreciation and work on healthy relationships(especially their relationship with themselves) they finally become content and happy, even though they may not have all the things from earlier in their life.

If gratitude doesn’t come naturally to you then you need to incorporate practices into your daily life to make sure you grow your gratitude and realize the blessing you’ve been given by being handed this life. As it grows and grows your whole outlook and trajectory will change. Obviously you’ll still go through ups and downs, trials and tribulations…but as a wise man once said - “That’s life son”. And cultivating gratitude will help you get through those times faster so can get back to living the best life you can.

Get outside often
stay active mentally
avoid taking unnecessary prescription drugs. If the problem can be solved naturally it will likely be a better options to take has been my experience.
eat healthy
take magnesium and fish oil. I say that as a few members of my family used to be difficult to be around. A number of years ago I got into a health kick, eating well and taking a few supplement. Others in the family joined in and to my pleasant surprise some of the older family members became happier. Some of that I attest to magnesium and fish oil.

its hard to think about when you are young or havnt faced death but a wise person realizes the older they get the more of the most valuable thing they have lost and the closer they are getting to an inevitable nothingness(which deep down we all do know and as you get older you feel it more and more but when you are young or if you are stupid you dont)

Try and maintain your health obviously, also very importantly keep your mind active . I have many hobbies and just wish I had more money.
Still working ,but only because of bad decisions in life . If I had a few mil in the bank , I certainly wouldn’t be working .
I have this obsession with tools, and can’t own enough . Also like CNC equipment, like laser engravers and router tables , and will have mine built some day .
Then there’s all the learning with vectors etc, the list goes on and on .
Only thing I miss is not owning one of my classic vehicles now , as it was also a worth while hobby .
But I ran out of room on my garage and my toys had to go

Dont listen to other people for starters. They will 100% of the time try to control you and mold you into what they expect, not what you want.

Also dont go to the doctor for every little niggling thing. Go if you cant fix it yourself. if you go and they give you tylenol, you wasted your time and theirs. I lok at it as having to put faith in another mans hands to tell me what to do, Thats not what I am about. It slowly degrades you as a man, They kow this thats why the media and women are so eager to get you to want to embrace going. They arent on your side.

You wouldnt keep taking a car to a mechanic for every little thing when most stuff you can fix yourself.

People get old and act old because they somehow want to. i have seen guys in their 40's whining about being old and this and that. Its just an excuse for being weak. Simple trap to fall in to. Hurts when I lift weights so its not that I am out of shape, it must be because I am old and so on.

Having a proper diet is a huge factor in aging, Huge and cannot be overstated, Combine this with some working out and sunlight and its a winning combination.

Of course, being single will enable all of these things, Good luck trying to live your life if you are weighed down with some old lady wife. Not going to happen and basically what does happen is men start taking on their wives personality and morphing into them. A gelding is still a horse after all but he would rather not be a gelding.
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda
