Is Marriage Worth It To You?

Marriagecels are you happy? Do you ever feel restricted, obligated, under surveillance?

Divorcecels are you happy? Any plans to re-marry? If you already have, is it any better this time?

LTRcels are you happy? Think you might ever propose/marry?

Singlecels are you happy? Are you hoping every day you're gonna find someone, or are you enjoying the freedom?

Saw this clip earlier for the first time and thought it was hilarious. There's some truth to it, but maybe grass is greener on the other side.

We really need to invent some sort of divorce celebration service like they have wedding showers and such.

Guys can party and generally have a good time once everything is finalized.

What marriage was for me was constantly being around someone with depression unmedicated. i think I bring it out in women or something. yelled at all the time for nothing, hysterical crying over absolutely nothing. That was just a normal day, not even a particularly bad one.

Couldnt do anything without that lunatic hanging around and ruining it. Of course no sex, that along with any semblance of house cleaning, cooking, caring for the kids or anything like that was gone as well.

After years of this she finally got some meds, returned to normal almost right away. Shortly after that met someone else and left. Basically i got the worst of it. I was left out fat, out of shape, no confidence, no money, no nothing.

Took years to right the ship.

this is not an usually bad thing either, this is what most guys deal with in marriage. Its the norm for most men.

Recently single. Want to get married and have kids etc. Not looking forward to being around someone 24/7 and getting the random mood swings all women have. Last few relationships always ended up me feeling like I was the father and they were my responsibility.

If I could just have a marriage where it is like casual dating where you only see them like half the week that would be ideal. I don't want to put up with their chit all of the time when there is too much BS in life already.

being single definitely has it's perks, I like being alone for most part, peace and quiet. but sometimes i wish I had a girlfriend, especially when I'm out with friends or at a concert or somewhere social. I feel like I'm in a better place than a lot of other guys, because I'm single and save money and just chill at home most of the time, but I also feel like I'm wasting my youth/20's working 40 hours a week in an office, playing video games and doing what I'm doing right now on a friday night.

Brutal but true. My dad went through multiple divorces in his lifetime, most older men that I know have actually. Sounded like you wound up with good finances/income and a self improvement mindset all around after. Have you given up on women? If so, to what degree?

I wonder about your age. It sounds like you're at least at the point of knowing what you want in a woman, someone that's a bit more independent and self assured / busy.

Yeah the girl I'm talking to now is more infrequent/casual like you describe. And also independent. Sometimes I think she's better than me lol, I know she is when it comes to discipline at least.

I got out of a LTR last year and have found myself frequenting bars every weekend. Probably not the best idea, but it's my idea of socializing and meeting new people. It might be more ideal to go to a beach, park, pick up a sport for a hobby, do some kind of community service, join a country club, etc.

The only guys who seem to like marriage are the ones whose wives basically act like their mothers.

Most guys will f up and get married at some point. **** happens.

If you're retarded enough to do it again, you're an idiot

Stay single. Buy the things you want without having to explain it. Fuk younger chicks with daddy issues and then tell them to leave

It's that easy.
The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

Marriagecels either die as heroes, or live long enough to see themselves get cucked.

This.

There was a time when I too was a mariagecel. I was even vocal about it to the point of getting chit for it here on the misc at one time. So I know all about being a sap for the whole marriage thing.

Having said that, it shouldn't take a man experiencing more than one marriage and one divorce to realize that marriage is a stupid idea for men in general in 2022. There was a time when marriage was probably not only usually worth it, but also ideal. However, 3rd/4th wave feminism and society deciding it has no family values anymore changed all that.

Marriage is great if you find the right person. I can imagine it would be terrible with the wrong one. If you can find a woman that makes you laugh, is loyal, frugal with money, sucks your penor regularly etc then your winning in life and it’s so much better than being single. Even if the penor sucking dies off a bit after a few years, it’s still way better than chasing random sloots that you always have to worry about busting a nut in for fear of std’s.

This.

It’s really not much more complicated than that.

I also think you gotta get married to someone who is your friend, first and foremost.

Makes sense. I’ve only ever really fallen hard for one girl and she reminded me of my mother, not looks wise but personality wise.
