I'm in a state that everybody ambitious tends to leave after college, which is even worse.

Now it's just a bunch of stale ideas from the 1970s still floating around with a bunch of old money basically pulling the strings on everything unchallenged. It's comfortable, but it's also an easy place to go years without any type of change or progression.

i used to think this was an issue but some exit polling data i saw from a recent election seemed to imply the opposite... liberals were staying in their states while conservatives were fleeing liberal states and going to places like texas or florida.

granted it may not be the same for east coast states close to NY where you're being invaded by people who are escaping the policies that priced them out of their state, and then voting for the same policies in their new state..

Generally, wealthy people and poor people tend to stay in place. People in the middle class tend to follow opportunity.

Right now, many Democrat-controlled states lack opportunity because of high cost of living and average job prospects. So the middle class leaves for greener pastures. These decisions are typically driven by economics and not politics.

Eh, it sucks for anyone trying to stay in place and be ambitious though. There's nothing more obnoxious than trying to argue with some Boomer about why things need to be done differently than they were in 1970. If these people were exposed to new people and ideas, they might see how it could benefit them and come around. But they are still the ones in charge, so everything is just in a constant state of decay.

I don't care as much where specifically they are coming from, I just want people to stop moving here. I know they're mostly from NY, which is no good.

Libs and muzzies have that strongly in common. If they change, it takes them a decade or longer to realize the error of their ways. Again, IF.
