Man I actually felt bad when I heard he passed. Loved his show No Reservations was great..Parts Unknown was ok it started getting political.
A Cook's Tour was really underrated too when he started off. Very unfiltered especially in the era before social media.

She was clearly some type of Medusa NPD chick with obsessive tendencies. She got him into all the feminist BS, and was clearly a parasite looking for a host, and caught Bourdain at a low point in his life.
As a guy who has been with one of these girls before, when they start pulling away it's honestly like suddenly losing a close family member. They come on so strong and basically smother you with sex and attention for months, then they start to pull away and completely detach and your body goes through some crazy type of trauma. Once my chick disappeared, I would wake up at like 3AM every morning and not be able to get back to bed. And it honestly took like 9 months to get my normal sleep schedule back. It honestly took like 3 months to feel normal during the day again.
I bet she convinced him that things were his fault, and the mindfuk made him kill himself. She probably was fuking all types of other guys, and he wasn't(but she told everyone they had an open relationship to assuage her own shame). I don't quite understand killing yourself over this, but he probably had a pretty empty life at that point and had accomplished everything he possibly could and had never found a feeling like that crazy chick made him feel.

Loved his show. But it was clear he was a bit of a beta. He always seemed like an emo who talked about being depressed. I just can't believe he would leave his daughter over being cheated on by some twat. Wasn't Asia Argento involved in some ped0 sh!t as well. She also had a world of issues. He stuck his d!ck in crazy. So I can't feel too sorry for him.

He is an incredibly talented writer. His book Kitchen Confidential is one of the best books I've read as someone who has worked in Michelin Starred environments. He was the perfect host for the TV shows he had and he had the coolest job anyone could ever ask for.
That being said he was a fukk up starting as a kid and was a hardcore drug addict throughout his life and he just happened to find his niche/passion in cooking. You could tell in his shows he was always a little depressed and I'm sure his past drug usage gave him some pretty wild swings.
All that said, he is easily one of the top 5 people I'd have a beer with. Dude probably has some batchit crazy stories to tell.

This is what it took for me as a decent looking guy in his mid 30s. It's probably a lot harder for a guy in his 50s like Bourdain to just find that again because although he was a well-known celebrity, it was probably still hard as fuk for him to actually connect with people and find someone who isn't just a fan. If I had to go through the same chit I did then at an older age, it probably would have been much tougher due to smaller support circle and being a single guy at that age is probably fuking a bit lonely to begin with.
