That said, a 2017 study that appeared in the Archives of Sexual Behavior found that the average adult currently enjoys sex 54 times a year, which equates to about once a week. This is less sex, by about nine per year, compared to a similar study done in the 1990s. Interestingly, though, another study published in Social Psychological and Personality Science — which surveyed over 30,000 Americans over 40 years for three different projects — discovered that a once weekly frequency was the Goldilocks standard for happiness. Couples who had sex more than once a week didn’t report being any happier, and those who had sex less than once a week reported feeling less fulfilled.
Seems pretty low. I usually do it 3-4x a week, used to be everyday, but been a bit lazy.

I couldn’t imagine once a week or more. I think at that level, you and the girl are being unfulfilled. I can see just getting caught up with things and not making it a priority, but I think the relationship suffers, and sex needs to be made a priority in the relationship.

As the man, I think we should be initiating sex and keep the sexual interest going - grabbing her butt throughout the day, feeling up some boobs when you see her, sexual innuendo throughout the day and in text. I think that also means dressing well and taking care of yourself so your girl finds you attractive. The girl should be doing the same too.

Remember that's an average of 40k people surveyed. In there would be old people, incels, married people who barely ever have sex. So it balances out.

Had a high libido girl I banged for about half a year and we did it over 200 times in six months.

I think the more important stat is satisfaction with once a week on average, which is a bit low in my opinion, even when married you should shoot for 2-3 times a week.
