Told me to make my bed. I would respond back saying "No," or "make me." Or the worst saying "I hate you." Stuff of that nature.

I haven't talked to him in over a decade. Realized that now (he's almost 80) he had been laid up in some low cost slum nursing home. I finally after all the years went to go pay him a visit. When I got to his room, I couldn't believe the conditions. Complete neglect by the nursing home staff (he actually had bruises on his face) nobody cleaned his sheets or pillow it looked like in months, and leftover food all over his clothing. He was so frail and weak he could barely move it seemed like. Certainly couldn't feed himself on his own.

As I approached him, despite how weak he was and how much pain he was in, his eyes lit up to see me. He said "Oh my gosh, son, is it really you?" I didn't respond to his question. I just looked him square in the eye, pointed at him, and said "Make your bed." I then left and never returned.

Yeah, let's see how much he likes it.
