It's crazy to think how accepted it was like before the 1990s.

I'm a libertarian but I can see the how it makes sense for all cars to require drivers to blow into it to make sure you're sober. Imagine the lives that could be saved.

I am a libertarian, and I totally disagree with this. People take one of two paths when driving after some drinks. Some people are feeling good and drive like maniacs. Others realize they are impaired and keep their hands at 10 & 2, turn off the radio and go exactly the speed limit because they recognize that their reflexes are compromised and therefore they need to drive more carefully. You are unfortunately in the reckless crowd who is a danger to society, but the rest of the people shouldn't be punished because you can't handle yourself. I get the need for DUI laws, but people should only be pulled over for DUI if there is cause (i.e. they are speeding or swerving or somehow driving recklessly). The people who know they need to be more careful and drive safely shouldn't. I oppose DUI checkpoints for this reason.

Texting and driving is at least as dangerous as DUI.

Okay so you want to leave it up to a (relatively) arbitrarily decided-upon number that the state government put into place, regardless of how impaired they actually are or their relative decrease in driving ability.

Seems odd to me that you'd be so personally supportive of this system being put into place but wouldn't put some thought into whatyouthink is an appropriate number.

Thinking through all scenarios may lead you to a different conclusion regardinghowa sobriety-monitoring system should be implemented.
