I manage IT groups for a large global company and I enjoy it..

Technical stuff always came easy to me. The difficult problems people took weeks to solve took me minutes.
I work for a good an ethical company
I can travel virtually anywhere in the world at anytime I want
I make a decent salary
The people I work with are good people. The average tenure at the company is 11 years.

I manage a construction company specializing in water based custom high end cottages.

Drive around on Georgian Bay in boats all day and manage a bunch of tradies.

We have one work truck, and 9 boats.

I think it depends on the department. I’m sure there are plenty out there that don’t do much.

Typical day:
0700 - Relieve off-going member/rig/equipment checks
0800 - Roll call/breakfast/house chores
0900 - Building/hydrant inspections, drilling
1200 - Lunch
1300 - Drills/work out
1800 - Dinner
1900 - Free time
0800 - Go home

My rig runs ~3000 calls/year, and obviously they happen at random times. Already this month we’ve had shootings, CPR calls, numerous overdoses, a good fire, and a vehicle extrication.

But our schedule is pretty unbeatable and the west coast pays pretty damn well plus pension.

I work at the local puma store. It's been busy so getting lots of hours now. Enjoy it because I'm hardworking and like to serve customers.

I already own a duplex and a 2017 v6 powered sedan so I don't need a lot of income. Plus my credit karma score is 836.

Our puma store is the only one in the city and so far on busy days we've done 25k sales.

Pretty nice so far. No phone calls, minimal emails.

Pay could be better, but I signed an offer for a second remote job that only requires 4 hours of my time M-F.

I do construction project management for a major cable company (build the main cable/fiber infrastructure in cities & counties), started off in the industry 9-10 years ago doing commercial postwires, climbed my way up and a lot of moving and jumping companies

To answer OPs question yes, i do now that I learned to handle the stress of dealing with conference calls with VPs and directors on the daily and how to handle the contractors

I’m a heavy equipment mechanic for a road building contractor.

I enjoy it sometimes, but am getting sick of all the whiny, entitled operators. I stick with it because it pays well and has a supplied truck and fuel. 100k a year with overtime. But I’ll soon move on because it does get tiring fixing everyone’s fuk ups all day.
