Proof that deadlift doesn't do chit for adding muscle mass

Start watching it around 8:40 min mark. Dudes in the vid are lifting anywhere from 400 lb (180 kg) to 550 lb (250 kg) and none of them look like they lift, lmao.

I could see DL being the most CNS/neuromuscular dependant lift. Far as hypertrophy goes tho, not many are doing 8-10-12+ rep DLs... mostly it's rippetoecels pulling sets of 5-6.

Because anything less then 8 to 10 reps is **** for hypertrophy. And most of the guys deadlifting big numbers only do 1-3 reps.

I'm sure if you were to do 3-5 sets of deadlifts for 10-12 repetitions and progressively overload in that rep range some muscular growth would occur.

The biggest deadlifters in any commercial gym are either fat mode or look like the guys in that video.

Powerlifting is a meme for retards.

Goku, meet Namek.

If you want functional strength, go fkn do construction. If you want aesthetics, do bodybuilding.

If you want to look like a fat retard, do deadlift, bench, and squat LMAO.

Yea I've been saying this for years. Deadlift is all leverage. Your leverage obviously matters a ton for bench and squat as well but deadlift is by far the most leverage-dependent lift.

I guess. Pretty lulzy most big miscers would struggle with 500 lb deadlift, and there is some skinny 70 kg Asian dude lifting 550 lb.

its one of the few lifts that doesn't have strong correlation to bodyweight

there are sub 200lb 900lb pullers

and 150lb women deadlifting 600lbs these days

its all leverages and CNS

Maybe some of the weights are just for show?

It seems like a street performance, it's possible the bar is lighter than it appears.

He's probably doing some guys a solid too make them look very strong in front of the ladies lol.

Then at the end where he's counting up the wons, maybe it is just a street show.

Yup. Short torso and long arms = automatic 2x bw deadlift without training.

Looks like the video is from China where everything is upside down so gravity works different there unlike the western world, so deadlifting is actually easier in China
