Cars are a nuisance to this world
I know a lot of people will say that we need them for fast transportation and there are some guys who really like them, but think about how much concrete and space they take up. Construction workers spend almost all of their time fixing roads and highways, and sometimes, pedestrian crossings are completely blocked off. We would have space for so many other things(farms, useful buildings, more grocery stores, parks, bike paths, sceneries etc) if there weren't so much accommodation for vehicles. Like stop being so lazy and learn to walk, run or ride a bike.
Cars are bad for the environment and the number one source of greenhouse gas. I know there are climate change deniers but just look at China. They can't even see the sun clearly most of the time due to all the pollution.
Cars also put people in danger, especially children and the elderly who have trouble getting to places by themselves and they are put in a position where they are dependent on vehicles. If the destinations were closer by due to us having more space for them, they would be able to get to where they want more easily.
Cars are the number one cause of death when it comes to unintentional injury.
I also can't stand the *******s who make loud sounds with their cars.

Americas love afair with cars is coming to an end. Between traffic, dealers and insurance, the burden of having one outweighs the benefits.
People who live in suburbs are able to work from home, and have all their groceries and supplies delivered, and can Uber if they need to go see a Doctor or whatever and can just go without if they need to.

The only plausible issue with automobiles is people simply accelerate, brake, turn too fast
50 years ago most people had enough common sense to drive 50mph max while cruising which led to much fewer accidents since you could stop much quicker than the 85mph+ people do today

I have worked in construction, construction workers spend most of their time on residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
We also need a way to transport goods and people over long distances, which is why we have railroads and the highway system.
You can't just walk thousands of miles with thousands of pounds of coal, food, or steel. Delivery people also use cars.
Even Europe, with its excellent commuter railways, relies on trucks to transport goods. Not to mention militaries.
There is much more to the world than white collar remote workers and their preferred mode of transport.
Automobiles make modern life possible, but they are still a relatively new invention.
Maybe there is something better, but it has not been invented yet.

another issue is an issue of convenience and time. Have fun riding a damn bicycle to work every day living in the North East and there's a literal blizzard storming out side. Cars give us the comfort and expediency of getting from one place to another AND with the ability to carry large loads of items to our homes. You can't do that walking.

I love cars but I do think we need better public transit/bike lanes. Everywhere you go it's way too congested with 1 person in a huge truck/suv taking up a ton of space.
I would love to move to a very bike/walk friendly city. I wouldn't mind biking to work as long as it's on some sort of decent trail and not next to traffic.

Stroads are really a lousy way to move traffic. They make a good case that we would be better served by express style lanes [highway] with streets/bike paths/sidewalks on either side.
Stroad: multi-lane high traffic road with higher speed limits than streets BUT with lots of stoplights and driveway entrances for businesses
